Decades of Leadership and Public Service

Dr. AJ Jain is a candidate for Georgia Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner and one of the most experienced insurance professionals in the state to seek this office.

For more than three decades, Jain has built his career in the insurance industry at the highest levels of leadership. His experience spans underwriting, corporate governance, regulatory engagement, and executive management — the very areas directly overseen by the Insurance Commissioner.

Dr. Jain began his professional career in academia before moving into consulting. He later joined a publicly traded U.S. insurance company, where he rose through the ranks to become Chief Underwriting Officer. During his tenure, the company strengthened its financial position and expanded its assets to more than $1 billion, ultimately achieving a successful exit in a highly competitive marketplace.

Following that success, AJ went on to advise and lead several insurance ventures across the country. His work has included guiding the remediation of a South Carolina insurer, structuring complex transactions and conducting due diligence for a Florida workers’ compensation company, and acquiring a New York auto insurance company where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Throughout his career, Jain has held officer- and board-level roles across multiple insurance organizations. In each role, he has brought financial discipline, strategic vision, and operational leadership that strengthened the companies he served and protected policyholders.

Dr. Jain holds advanced degrees in management and economics, including a Ph.D. in Marketing. His academic background provides a strong analytical foundation for understanding complex insurance markets while also equipping him to communicate clearly with consumers and small businesses navigating insurance challenges.

His commitment to public service also includes serving as a Citizen Representative on Fulton County’s Audit Committee, where he helps oversee financial accountability for a county government with an annual budget of approximately $1 billion. Additionally, AJ founded Feed A Billion (2016–2024), a non-profit that successfully delivered over 7 million meals through an innovative food security program before concluding its mission.

Dr. Jain is now bringing his decades of insurance leadership, executive experience, and commitment to public service to the role of Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner — working to ensure a stable insurance market, fair regulation, and strong consumer protection for the people of Georgia.
